About
Importance and Introduction:
Carrots are a popular winter and nutritious vegetable. Its salad, pickle, and halwa are also popular. Its juice is the best source of vitamin A. It is also suitable for threadworms. There is also a cure for excess uric acid due to urination. Useful for hepatitis and liver diseases. Due to its nutritional importance, it is also called the apple of the poor. Due to the abundance of vitamin A, carrots are best for the eyes. Apart from this, carrots reduce the heat of the blood. Farmers can not only provide cheap carrots to the people by adopting modern production factors but also increase their income significantly.
Types:
Approved carrot variety T29, which has better productivity and better immunity. In addition, imported varieties of carrots are available.

Seeds
Seed Rate:
Always use a good type of healthy and high-yielding seed which is free from herbs and clean. 6 to 8 kg seed per acre is sufficient for pruning and 4 to 6 kg seed per acre for drill cultivation. Seeds should always be cultivated by applying fungicide. For this purpose, use thyofenate methyl or metallaxel + mancozeb for 2 grams per kilogram of seed. In the case of pruning for an early crop, the seed rate can be up to 10 kg per acre.
Cultivation
Time to cultivate:
Early cultivation in central Punjab begins in September and late cultivation continues until the end of October. The second fortnight of September is very suitable for its cultivation in Punjab. Orange varieties imported from Europe are cultivated in November and December. High temperatures affect seed growing and growing seeds at temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius or higher is not correct. If the seeds are soaked in water for 12 hours before sowing, then the growth rate improves.
Preparing the Earth:
Carrots are a long-root crop. If the soil is not well developed and it contains raw fertilizer (FMY) of soil and dung, then the shape and color of the carrot do not develop well, so it is necessary for the soil to be soft and full to the deepest. For this, do deep plowing 3 to 4 times in the wet condition and the ground should be well prepared by giving a sigh.

Weed Control
Prevention and Pruning of Weeds:
Control of weeds is very important to achieve a good yield. Weeds must be remedied within two to six weeks after sowing. The crop then controls the weeds on its own. Successful eradication of weeds is possible by spraying pandimethaline in carrot crops immediately after sowing 1 liter per acre. In order to achieve a better quality carrot, it is necessary to prune on time and prune in such a way that the distance between the plants is 2 to 3 cm. While pruning, keep in mind that the plants come out with the roots and remove the highly grown and weak plants. If there is a possibility of growing Della, use S. metolachlor 800 milliliters per acre provided that the field is paved with a laser land leveler.
Irrigation
Method of Cultivation and Irrigation:
In a well-smooth and prepared ground, make toys at a distance of 75 centimeters (two and a half feet) and cover the seeds with soil in lines one centimeter deep on both sides and immediately apply water in such a way that it does not climb the tracks at all. Irrigation twice a week in the beginning improves growth. Later, increase the interval as per the crop requirement but weekly irrigation is better. Stop giving water two weeks before harvest so that the sweetness of carrots increases and it is also easy to uproot them. Now the drill is also available for sowing

Note: Excessive use of nitrogenous fertilizer spoils the quality of carrots.
Harvesting
Carrots are fully prepared after 100 to 120 days. However, for daily use, it can be harvested after about 80 to 90 days when its thickness is 2 to 4 centimeters. Irrigation should be stopped two weeks before the carrot crop is harvested so that the land is in a dilapidated condition and it is not difficult to uproot the carrots. Nowadays, machines are also being used for harvesting and washing carrots.

Crop Plan
climate:
Carrot is a cold climate crop, 15 to 18 °C is the ideal temperature for seed growing. 20 to 25 °C is very suitable for good growth and a high yield of carrots.
Suitable Land:
Carrots can be cultivated in all types of land, but the land of Pakistan is suitable for producing good quality i.e. beautiful long and smooth carrots that give more yield. Small carrots with many roots are more likely to be formed in greasy soil, while the quality and color of carrots deteriorate even in soil with very high organic matter.
